Programs & Activities
Elderhaus provides an organized program
designed to reduce social isolation and loneliness, stimulate interests in
leisure activities, and enhance capacity to perform activities of daily living
such as bathing, toileting, and eating.
Daily programs are planned to include
activities that are diversional, therapeutic, educational, social, volunteer oriented, and
provide program assistance:
Diversional activities are designed to divert attention from self by
focusing on projects that result in a finished product and foster feelings
of achievement.
Educational activities provide opportunities to learn new skills, rekindle
old skills, and help participants maintain as much self-sufficiency as
possible.
Social activities are for fun and enjoyment.
Volunteer service activities provide an opportunity to do something for
someone else. It is an opportunity to give to the community.
Program assistance involves helping with the programs at Elderhaus.
Opportunities involve serving others, setting the table for snack or lunch,
reading to others, helping with computers, answering the telephone, etc.

The staff of Elderhaus
makes every effort to help each individual perform activities that will
stimulate their interests and promote health and develop friendships

Enjoyable group hobbies,
crafts and social activities are arranged on an ongoing basis.
